Your priority should be to buy something you're happy with, if you think the geometry suits you and your not bothered about the weight then get that. It's not what I'd buy. It's not that cheap, it's fairly heavy, and geometry is a bit old. Have a look out for a Crush/905/San Quentin for a lighter aluminium frame or a Cotic for something that uses better materials, any of those options will be more fun, and that's what counts isn't it?
Also there's plenty of Cotic owners in this thread.
@Tallboy Problem with the tarn is it's almost got XC geometry, but without being light or nimble. There are plenty of steel framed bikes with more fun geometry, and that have less agricultural frames.
