That is really nice! What rims and tyres are they?
-
• #126578
11 speed 105 for now! The actual build is going to be pretty budget for now. Definitely shouldn't have bought a new frame so the rest is going to be made up of what I have to hand.

that is special dude. great work

Thanks! The tyres are Vittoria Corsa's. The rims are silver Remerx Taurus, 30mm high. Hubset was NOS and is laced with Sapim spokes. Both hubs have all spokes routed on the outside of the flanges, see attached pictures. More stiffness following the 1982 catalog... Worth a read if you have some time :)

Is there a go to 1 1/8" ec34 that won't break the bank? Cane Creek are about £40, any idea if they're decent?
-
• #126585
yes or ritchey

• #126586
Cane Creek 40.

Had been hoping to finish this today but the omnium self extracting bolt failed. Also, upon putting the crankset on I think slimmer cranks and a not super chunky ring would suit better.
Thinking 7600s

No way you found one?!

There was a guy selling a few in varying sizes recently so I obviously had to get the 64

Love that seat stay design. Also are the saddle bags available to buy?
-
• #126591
Lovely frame.
The handlebars angle seems a little off (bottom of the drop currently pointing at the rear hub) if I may.

Yeah I know, that's the highest I can get the levers up the bars if I want to use the internal routing. I tried it with bars rotated forwards more but the shifters ended up pointing down too much. As it is, the tops of the hoods are perfectly flat and the drops are still comfy like that so it works fine for me.
@doug1e Possibly. He's not a business, just a mate that makes them in his spare time. Also based in the US so might not be that economical but he'll be able to sort something out for you if you message him on IG https://www.instagram.com/y3mbl/

Utterly outstanding.

Thanks. If I had known that there was so much enthousiasm for this bike, I would've made a CP thread for it. I'm doing one for my next project though (master piu)

• #126597
Yes please do!
-
• #126598
No harm in doing it retrospectively...

Looks great! Always nice to see another Aurelius too (my girlfriend has one too) - got lots of time for Marek.

In researching the right stem I came across this handy tool which allows you to see what difference another size stem would make to your geometry etc. Thought someone else might find it useful too.
A few tweaks for the summer. New saddle bag made by a friend, new tape, bottle cages and tyres. Fit tweaked slightly meaning I should probably get the steerer cut again, also wouldn't mind a new seatpost since this one weighs more than most alu posts.
