lol/bleak AF, but spot on as ever. I do follow him on Twitter but always miss his tweets because I hate looking at Twitter.
Edit: Ah, of course, he's got an Insta too.
Who's that outside the window, Shipman?

It was Cummings second home, he lied when he said it was his fathers.

I don't know if this makes it any worse, but given that he's meant to be some kind machiavellian genius why lie about it, if your going to just tough it out anyway, it gives more oxygen to the story.

Appeal to 'family'. He was only up there because his niece and sister had already offered help (but you live 260 miles away?), He was never closer than shouting distance to his family, stayed in a completely separate part of the estate, and it is all "concrete block" housing anyway, not anything pleasant or enjoyable.
Glad we can't ask Whitty or Valance about their role in any of this distracting business and good job they definitely don't want to be involved or offer any opinion either! Wrap it up chaps, end of story.

It does because the guidelines specifically state that you should not head to your second home for isolation 'n' chill.

Is it really his second home or a bit of tax planning?

What is the reasoning with this? Other than, most ppl dont have a second home to chill at?

Look at what happened in Italy - they locked down the North, people who had second homes in the South headed there and took the virus with them. Virus spread initially in cities - people taking it to rural second homes would have been a disaster.

It also has the potential of putting unnecessary strain on the medical infrastructure of places which generally serve smaller numbers of people.

It's this more than the "them vs us"

I thought he said near his parents. Wasn’t it the police who said he was staying on his fathers estate.

The problem is that they are involved in politic, no matter how much they claim they don’t want to “talk about politics”.
The pandemic is a politic issues, not health issues.

Both, I think. Just because he's hoping to evade inheritance tax doesn't make it not his second home, if he's on the deeds.

I think most people would infer that the cottage is owned by the land owner but here is what he said:
I thought the best thing to do in all the circumstances was to drive to an isolated cottage on my father's farm. At this farm, my parents live in one house. My sister and her two children live in another house, and there was a separate cottage roughly 50 metres away from either of them.

Yeh Shipman, he has had Shipman in all of them recently
Yeah sorry, an important detail I forgot. It was brilliant.
