Astonishing episode of Today in Focus about the care home crisis https://www.theguardian.com/news/audio/2020/may/28/the-scandal-of-covid-19-in-care-homes
Zero help from the Government at the crucial stage. Zero advice, nothing.
The Guardian actually found a care home in Sheffield which decided to ignore the advice of "no risk" the Government in March and prepared themselves. They have never had a single Covid case.
At this time Covid patients were actively being discharged en mass to care homes elsewhere.
Unbelievable

Milk?

Ha, fold obviously.
Kuenssberg and Peston went first asking questions of Whitty and Valence relating to Dominic Cummings and BoJo shut it down and wouldn't let them answer.
Up steps our hero and asks Whitty and Valence the direct question if they were happy that they weren't allowed to answer questions relating to Dom and whether there was anything else they've been told they're not to talk about. He went on to ask his pre-prepared question but I felt really chuffed that he obviously felt equally annoyed at the muffling by Boris and had the balls to try putting them on the spot for a third time.

Thanks for the heads up about the questions. Watched it, and was impressed.
Also impressed with

He (and the majority of the public he was representing) deserve better.
Reported for impartiality.

On the care home theme, when it became clear thing were going badly wrong, PHE came up with a plan to tackle it but the Government rejected it:

Just occurred to me that the Scottish Referendum was another instance of the BBC showing favor to the Government stance.
Haven’t found my journal from the Brexit era, but in my 2019 notes I wondered whether the BBC radios’ ad nauseum coverage of Brexit non-news served to help the ‘Get Brexit Done’ campaign. One coworker flat out told me he voted Tory because he was so sick of hearing about Brexit and just wanted someone to finish it and move on.

That’s the beauty of the message “Get Brexit Done” implying that it will be over once you vote for them.

Excellent, saw what you did there. We may get to disprove that at a socially distanced Wests soon, can't remember the last time there were more than 4 there!

The last time I can remember 4 people at a Wests the other two weren't forum members or even cyclists!

He ended this part of the question with "if you feel unable to give a verbal answer, a nod or a shake of the head will suffice." As if they were being held hostage.
Nice one. You can tell him that I reacted to his question with a spontaneous round of applause, which I don't think I've ever done watching the news. The disrespect he was shown by having his question ignored was disgusting. He (and the majority of the public he was representing) deserve better.
