Haven't done anything yet, in no rush.

Take it for a spin and see if you can feel the 'increased stiffness' and 'more effective and more precise bike handling'.

'more effective and more precise bike handling' 'increased stiffness'
I knew there was a reason for going boost.

Measure the rear dropout spacing. If it's 142mm, it's not boost. If it's 148mm it's boost. Internal mounting face to internal mounting face.
-
• #16582
a boost frame will almost definitely have boost written on it somewhere
-
• #16583
put a normal wheel in the axle and if it fits it ain't boost
-
• #16584
defiantly? what like 'this is boost, what ya gonna do about it?'
I would defiantly want a frame with that written on it.
-
• #16585
if it brings the trails alive its boost

'this is boost, what ya gonna do about it?'
Wondering if @coldharbour could etch this onto my G.O.A.T.

its this: https://www.pedalroom.com/bike/pinnacle-iroko-40213
will measure today, I need to get a direct mount sram chainring for it, non-boost options are quite limiting

Bedgebury.
My 7-y.o. wants to go out and ride there on Friday. I have just watched some videos and am pretty sure that he'll be fine (but slow) on most of the red trails. Any particular segments to avoid? Or should we stick to the blue trails only?
-
• #16592
He'll be fine on all the reds, the only place I'd even advise any caution is the very first trail where there is a rocky staircase style descent, but you can roll straight down the slope beside it.
He will only get himself into trouble if he takes too much speed on the (mild) descents which have some banked turns - gravel/grit lower down in these can be a bit slippery, but if he's railing it around the top then no problem.

This is the entire loop that was open last weekend - certain of the trails are shut for maintenance, and you're directed onto fire-roads: https://www.strava.com/activities/3497445419

Second shout out to osprey - worlds ugliest logo, but mad comfy packs. Da Kine also bomb proof - sometimes on Sport Pursuit for fairly friendly prices - not sure what water capacity is though off the top of my head, but slightly expandable for carrying stuff.

Thank you very much!

I’ll 2nd it being perfect. Only ridden there once mind but I found it pretty damn tame. I reckon it’s a perfect starter trail

Your 7 year old has more skills than me and i was fine

Thanks for the second vote. We watched a couple of YT videos together and he was quite excited by the prospect. Will be showing him BPW stuff next...

He also has more than me.

Bedgebury is just about as tame as it can get. I'm localish to it so maybe I'm just bored of it, but it's absolutely perfect for beginners and kids. He'll have a great time, you might be a bit bored from a riding perspective, but you'll enjoy your lad having a hoot. I took my kids there at 7, possibly younger and they were fine, apart from a bit of moaning about a couple of the climbs.
Sorry taken so long to get back to you, did you list it on eBay or were you waiting for me?
