Even stang myself to shit with nettles the other day to see if that helps.
Sorry to hear it hasn't. Other things I have done that helped in the past are going out exercising at sunrise. Shower & indoor clothes after then keeping the house as sealed as possible. There have been days where walking past an open window would put me in bed.
I'm grateful that nettle stings have been working here though.
Way bitd in my GCSE exam year I had an injection which worked too.

Maybe too soon to say? Has been a shade over 48 hours since. Also, I had taken an antihistamine that morning. I'm going to try again with nothing in my system.

Thanks, might go round the GP route. Seems to be getting worse every year.

Me too. Steroids.
Exceptional circs only, I Imagine.
Have you tried shaving your head? I gave up having long hair due to the pollen retention.

Are you eating local honey? It does actually work.

I bought a nasal wash thing off Amazon with enough salt sachets for 24 litres of sinus busting action.
Much cheaper than sterimar. -

I've had various lengths hair over the years, currently longer for a final hurrah before it falls out. I'd never linked hair length & pollen though, that is good to know.

Mine's been shite since Thursday night when I barely slept. It felt like the insides of my feet were itching, among all the rest of it you'd expect. Popping loratadines regularly, but there's something out there now that is breaking through it. Bleargh.

I've discovered that when I'm having a really bad day where Loratidine doesn't work, Promethazine seems to do the trick for me. I think the brand name is Phenergan. It can sometimes make me feel drowsy but nothing compared to the hayfever itself!
A Phenergan every morning has really taken the edge off for me over the last two days.

Cheers, I will try that. The combination of the hayfever, wearing contacts, not having had much sleep last night and being in a warm, dry room (forgot to put AC on until just now), means I'm close to just giving up trying to look at a monitor.

I have been using a nasal rinse squeezy thing for a year or so now to keep my rhinitis under control. Accepted that doing this three times a week is part of my life now. I get the 12oz nasaline salt pouches and decant into a tupperware. Much less faff than the sachets. Head angle when using the rinse is key. I do a rinse with my head parallel to floor to target the maxilliary sinuses and then another rinse with head over bath (head upside down) to target the frontal sinuses. Rinsing with head normal way up doesn't get the saline into the sinuses where the pollen can be trapped.

Its just that isn't it? Trying enough things before you find something that works.
And then finding out that it doesn't work next season :D

Seems to be a lot of Loratadine users on here. I'm still with Ceterizine HCl2. Should I think about switching? Is the former more effective?
-
• #640
There are so many variables I dont think it's possible to say it's more effective. Loratadine used to work for me too but stopped when my symptoms got worse.
No harm in trying something else if your current one isnt doing the job...

Just to check, do you mean facing the floor and then facing your knees (upside down)? I'm trying to picture it.

Distressingly, my toddler is showing signs of hayfever... red puffy eyes from rubbing and sneezing.
How to get her from rubbing her mucky toddler hands in her eyes during the day... -

Ceterizine seems to work better then Loratadine for me. Interested to try Promethazine

Promethazine is a useful drug to have in your cupboard. Works wonders for nausea and motion sickness and as an occasional sleep aid as well.
No idea if you can take it every day for a long time though.

Here's a picture, I do the second position (standing over sink) followed by the first position (kneeling over bath/sink, not a pillow).

Same for me

What is this madness.
I come to the thread after a hiatus to say my Benadryl isn't working, and now the cure for hayfever is neckbreaking yoga whilst syringing stuff up your nose!

Jeez. My loratadine isn't working. 20 mg to try and play catch up.
Makes me drowsy about an hour after taking. Surprise surprise....Also on anti tnf biological for my psoriasis. So my immune response should be lower. Fuck knows what this might be like if I was full bore immune response.

I think washing your nasal passage and then nostrils with jamming vaseline/beeswax is an approved method.

Nice! What's the source for that?
I get Desloratidine from GP, which helps.
Showering after being out I find also helps.
