I spoke to them after a run in with MCE insurance. My bike was collected by them (MCE) for inspection after a collision, they wrote it off but gave me the value of the bike minus what it was worth in it's current state and insisted I had to take the bike back, Cat B written off (never allowed to be returned to the road). I explained I had no off road storage and from the second they returned it to me, they would be forcing me to break the law by having it on the road untaxed and uninsured. They didn't care and on top, wanted to charge me £150 for redelivery of the bike plus £15 storage for each day they'd had it. Wouldn't tell me the location of the bike to collect myself.
Called the ombudsman, they said yes that would be unreasonable and we will step in but first you have to see through the insurance company's complaints procedure and give them a full 3 months (I think) to resolve it.
Phoned up MCE, said ombudsman isn't happy and agrees with me.
Bike was delivered next day to my door, no charges to pay.
Has anyone every went to the insurance ombusman over the conduct and underhand tactics of a accident management company that dealt with a claim and in turn shafted me?
