  • Borrowed from Boris, looks about two sizes too big

  • Everything else to one side, if I want to go for a drive I can just say "I was testing my eyesight officer" and that's that. Time to take advantage of how cheap petrol is at the moment.

  • Listened on radio. Some good questions at end... They missed an open goal though, as mentioned a few posts back: "How many loo stops did your son need on way up to & back from Durham?"

  • Yeah I need to go back to the Covid cycling thread to justify my lockdown rides. I was just testing my eye sight, obviously.

  • I think they think he’s critical to getting Brexit done

  • He drove 30 miles as an eye test.

At least life makes more sense now that I know I’m living in an episode of The Thick of It

  • He mentioned his blogs about pandemics quite a lot, anyone read anything about these?

  • I was expecting him to say "execute order 66"....

  • I can't understand why he did it. It seems like a concocted tale to justify the trips after they came to light. So many coincidences ending in them doing just about the 'right thing'. The lack of contrition will come back to bite. No idea why they thought this was a good move.

  • when do all the people who've been penalised for not conforming get their press conference in the back yard of No. 10?

  • Perhaps Mr Cummings feels the story will die now? No point doorstepping him as he will just say he said everything he has to say. Unless the papers have more what else is there to say? It's all about panto.

  • Just saw on twitter that the wayback machine supposedly shows he went back and edited them in the past couple of months to add mention of coronaviruses (as opposed to the language about pandemics and SARS that was there before...)

  • That annoyed me, he started it all by saying he isn't speaking on behalf of the civil service, government or PM, OK thats good, you are talking as a private citizen then. So why the fuck is this in the garden on No.10 and no doubt tax payer funded national address.

Most politicians have to do these kind of statements on their doorstep or This Morning.

  • to be fair, it's a long way to durham.

  • Should of

    Uh oh

  • That protracted and unresolved discussion on national TV about what judgment means when you have Covid symptoms was really helpful to the pandemic response.

  • Whether or not he goes, this whole story has been a very girthy and slow moving turd for the Government.

  • I bet, he’s such a narcissist.

  • Cute. It comes from Kabbalah. It became fashionable in Europe in the 17th century apparently.

  • ‘Weston-super-Mare General Hospital are reporting 64 inpatients as COVID-19 positive’

‘This is an increase from 30 at the beginning of the week. Also on testing asymptomatic staff are reporting 40 per cent of those tested as COVID-19 positive.’

... from an NHS memo seen by the Bristol post.

  • Google says that "Clifford, Arlington, Buckingham, Ashley, and Lauderdale" is a thing. What we need is Susie Dent

  • Boris now dodging questions. Surely that won’t wend well.

  • I'd assume that was a backronym; most fancy etymologies like that are.
