I just don't get it ... nothing is worth this. Whether he did right or wrong, any functioning government would have chucked him, maybe with an 'unlucky mate but that is politics' and moved on.

What does he have on them?

That’s how I feel, what he did was clearly wrong but people can understand why he did it. Why can’t he just admit it was wrong but his kids come first etc.

I can't understand why he did it. It seems like a concocted tale to justify the trips after they came to light. So many coincidences ending in them doing just about the 'right thing'. The lack of contrition will come back to bite. No idea why they thought this was a good move.
