He drives a range rover, he stayed on a farm so expect there were other 4x4 vehicles around, instead of testing driving on a field at the property he goes for a 30 mile trip to test his eyesight

If this isn't actually illegal - and I suspect it might be - it was a terrible idea that put other people at risk. Unless the stats have changed, most accidents happen with six miles of the home I think.
