Ride it! It looks awesome (and fast).

I know, I know but I feel it's time to dance to the @yetidamo reshuffle tune. Besides commuting I only ride off road and this thing (that took years to build 'cause I did it on a budget sourcing out decent deals) is parked in a corner along with my other overkill road bike which also cries itself to sleep every night.

Thanks man. It's a rocket for sure but I'm more into dirt than asphalt.
Avoiding trees + air time > Rapha suffering**disclaimer: I don't own any Rapha products

I don't know? Did he? I assumed it would have been cathartic for his mind in a sense.
Tbh I know I'll regret it, like everyone else does. -

Didn't he recently regret selling one of his bikes ;-)
Truth be known I do miss all the outgoing bikes as I've enjoyed them all for differing reasons and experiences. The midnight special was a cut too deep probably. It was the least fancy or "nice" of all the bikes sold, but it just ticked a box for me.
But over all I'm far happier with a decluttered garage @voxelwise and a more focused collection of bikes to ride. Currently extremely happy with the balance of 4 mtbs, 1 BMX and 1 road bike. Still excessive perhaps but a lot easier to live with.
All that said, your Klein is stunning!

I've got this nice old Campag Record headset on the Tommasini, the frame came with the headset. However as I'm rebuilding I've noticed this gap which doesn't look right... The bottom race won't budge so I presume it's all been as is for a long time however still doesn't look propa! Do I need to find a wider bottom race?

Compare it with the drawings, you want the spare parts catalogue part A for headsets, they are all on campagnolo.com back to 1994. You're almost certainly missing a rubber seal that closes that gap.

Thanks. That what I wondered, seal seems to be only answer to the conundrum. I think the headset is pre 94 but there has to be something similar. It's rather a tall headset which leaves the stem sitting pretty high, I'd like something that looks more integrated. Is it simply a case of looking for something with a lower stack height if I decide to swop it over?
-
• #126520
If you swap to something lower stack, you'll also have to trim a bit off the steerer
-
• #126521
Yeah I'm fine with that. As I say the stack on this is pretty tall so that wouldn't matter

I would expect this to fit, but you might want to ask Mercian yourself.

At that price I could afford to buy it and try it out. I've contacted them re something else recently and due to C19 their communication is sparse.

I've always sucked at getting rid of things in general and have only let two frames go, one was sold and the other given to a friend. I'm trying to persuade myself that I'd feel better without all these overpriced material possessions that are too precious to beat on anyway and are weighing me down. On the other hand, every single person I know plus hundreds of others on here always say that they miss the bikes they have gotten rid of. Gotta find that balance some day. Maybe not today though.
@matteroftaste Thanks man. My girlfriend has put up with 14 bikes in the apartment for far too long and I don't think she'd be excited seeing them in the living room as well. This one and a Seven Odonata has miraculously been in our bedroom for the past couple of years. I gotta draw the line somewhere.
Keep it
