Replacing headset

Posted on
  • Hi,
I have a Specialized Allez (I think 2006). Unfortunately a few months back someone kindly stole the forks and headset from the bike. I have now bought a new bike but would quite like to get this one back on its feet if possible.
I have recently bought some second-hand forks for it, but I am a little clueless when it comes to headsets. I am trying to work out what type I have and replacement parts I need to get . I unfortunately can't find much information on the bike's specs.
I have attached a couple of photos of the bikes head tube. Am I correct in saying the cups are still present and I need to buy a semi-integrated headset?
    Cheers,
    Gabriel

  • The cups are present but they aren’t semi-integrated. They’re normally just called threadless.

Sorry about your fork. Headset installations are somewhat tricky to do at home without the right tools. Does the new fork have a crown race installed? You’ll either need to install a new one or get a headset that matches the one on it.
