I’m in the process of replacing this Shimano 600 headset with a tange falcon and the fit is ever so slightly too loose - didn’t need to use a press. Any solutions for this - locktight ? Cheers

Sure it's the right headset? ISO vs JIS.

1" threaded ISO headsets have 30.2mm outside diameter cups, whereas JIS have 30.0mm. Might explain the loose fit.

ISO is the most common 1" threaded headset standard, and you might've bought a JIS headset.

Ahh thanks, yes it’s 30mm. Another rookie lesson in the world of 1” threaded. Fitted it with bushing and bearing locktight , think it’s disastrous?
