I think you are wrong. I think the public will be extremely angry about this. Most people have made sacrifices and wouldn't have dreamt of breaking the laws / guidelines this way. The last thing most parents would do is drive half way across the country to infect the rest of their family.

It’s bullshit though isn’t it - they’ve gone up to attend a birthday party.
No-one drives that far whilst seriously ill in order to get childcare, especially when you’ve got the sort of income they have and family in the local area. -
The childcare thing is going to be difficult to poke holes in.
Like he’s the only one who cannot sort out childcare without going against government guidelines.

I guess the media will keep talking about it until it’s clear that the public don’t give a fuck. Or it turns out they do and then yes then they’ll try to get rid of him. It will come down to the public’s mood on it, I think.
