Do you mean the video linked to in the article? That sounds like a digital remix to me, but I may be wrong.
The two songs of what was then marketed as 'world music' (I've never liked the label) that were played ad nauseam on the radio in Germany were 'Im nin'alu' and 'Yé Ké Yé Ké'. They both sounded great. Ofra Haza, of course, died very young.
