  • I've got a 1.5w dynamo wheel.
thinking of getting an iq-xs to run with it as that specifically states it can work with 1.5w or 3w dynamo hubs. Would it be crazy to run a 3w light with a 1.5w hub? Would the hub even power the light?
    What are my alternatives?

I reckon you answered your own question there.

I just built a set, with an XS,with B&M mini rear, for an unusually rated 2.4W hub. Light is s bit flickery at low speed. I think I’m used to Luxus U seems to have an uber capacitor in it, light is full bright standlight as soon as the wheel moves just a tiny moment, so rather thsn hub power being as issue I think XS is just a bit more basic electronics-wise.

tldr you’ll be fine corny. From what I understand, 1.5 is fine for the LED era lights, the higher wattages are for halogen lights or whatever the older ones than those are called.
