Plant ID help please - Is this some type of Acer?

I reckon it's a(n) Acer palmatum 'Dissectum Atropurpureum' Tree. Twenty years ago I buried a dead Koi under mine which seemed to kill it. I'm sure I'd read something about this being a thing in Japan but maybe it wasn't.

Not sure I can convince the other half that we need more Acers...
