Just been out for a race pace interval session and totally blew up, unable to complete the session . It should have been very achievable. Have nailed similar runs very recently. So, what was different?
Part of it will be the warmth. It always takes me a few weeks to get used to running in summer temperatures. But the big thing is the Chinese takeaway I had last night. Every time I have a Chinese I put on anything up to 2.5kg in water weight overnight and blow up like a fucking balloon. It has taken me years to realise it, but I always struggle to run the day after a Chinese. It feels like I've halved my fitness overnight but I'll be fine again within a day or so.
Is anybody else here this badly affected by salty food or am I more of a fanny than I realised?
Have something similar after visiting my folks for dinner. Indian/Bangladeshi food. Doesn't help that it is eaten later than my usual dinner time. And that i eat a mountain of it!
Bit of a random yarn if I may.
