• It was meant to be a keeper but Moots is getting all the attention and realistically I currently don’t need another roadie. It’s a great ride and this is the second I’ve ever seen for sale with the colours and ‘Team’ branding. T

  • @tomsvoboda The carbonice fd clamp, what dimension is that please?

  • Hey there. 34.9mm apparently. Had to line it with a layer of gaffa tape as it had a minor bit of slide but now clamps way more than needed! Cheers and hope you're well. T

  • Hmm mudguard decisions.
All black PDW 45’s or these carbon jobbies..

Veering towards the PDW ones as I think I prefer the profile and also they’re a nice matt colour. Will prob suit better. Plus they’re more solid 🤔

  • Got there at last. Today’s shakedown and hangover ride. Lots of tidying to do and cockpit changes but basically it’s dialled in exactly like the gangsta so that makes me happy.

  • Looking good, but needs moar tyre volume!

  • Cheers man. Aye once these are done then it’ll be some larger volume Compass’.
Needs all cables sorting, mild brake adjustment, new cockpit, new seatpost and change the saddle.
The TRP Spyre SL’s are fantastic and almost as good as hydro. Super easy to adjust and stops me covering the bike in oil.
Really happy with the cables gearing, also taught me a lot with setting it up etc. It’s unbelievable how good mechanical shifters have got, they’re a joy to use.
In the far and distant future I see Etap or similar mind ;)!

  • That is really good, with the changes you're planning it'll be even better.

  • Thank you sir, really stoked with it. It completely flies, you wouldn’t think you’re on a gravel/all-road bike..

  • Looks great. Glad youve gone for cables all round. Hydro di2 is way overdone

  • plus one for cables all round. new ultegra / 105 / grx are really good.

  • Cheers, totally agree. I’ve never really set any gears up from scratch so this was good learning. They shift so damn well it’s almost like having Di2. But much less hassle.. really happy with the setup for now. Frame can also take Di2 as I wanted to have the option but not sure that’ll happen at any point soon. T

  • Can the rims be de-stickered? Personally I think they're a bit too busy for the rest of the build. Sweet bike non the less!

  • Unfortunately not, the graphics are sprayed on. I agree with you though, would be nicer with a bit less of them. Will see what can be done. Or just buy some Enve or Zipps ;)
A proper nice update coming for the Gangsta, keep an eye open folks! T

  • Looking good Tom

  • Also Pdw really solid

  • Looking good.

  • Thanks chaps. Aye vying towards the pdw all black muddies. Will probably buy them and keep them till autumn/winter, don’t want to spoil the fine lines too early ;)
Quick lunchtime spin. Both King Ti cages on, all bottle bolts switched to Torx Ti ones.
Extralite 110mm -12deg stem. Biiiiig difference. Kept the reach the same as the 120 6deg one but dropped the stack. Much nicer position for now.
Next step is Enve Compacts and Di2 closed frame plugs.

  • .

  • Needs a gangsta update.

  • Soooo... Gangsta update. Bought a new Zipp 303 to de-lace. Bought a new black low-flange Phil Wood Pro single fixed hub to go onto it. Both should be arriving next week and will be sent off to DCR Wheels for re-lacing with black CXRays. Pics will come as the bits arrive.
In other new I think the Moots is dialled in. Enve Compacts 42cm, Extralite 110mm -12deg stem, Enve setback seatpost, usual SMP Dynamic carbon saddle.
Some cables trimmed and brakes re-adjusted. Still needs bartape once I'm 100% sure..
Goes like shit off a shovel. Genuinely love this bike, the ride is sublime and can take a proper thrashing on and off road. Think Moots have hit this one on the head. T

  • Gave the Moots a hard time yesterday. Found 5 miles of gravel paths by the seaside with some drops and jumps and had a whale of a time over it all. It just soaks everything up and makes it effortless. Then you jump back onto the road and it rolls just like a proper roadie. To say I'm chuffed with it is an understatement.
Pretty sure it's dialled in now so next jobs are to cut the steerer (some spacers ordered), get Ti block off bolts for all the holes that aren't currenlty being used and possibly some Atac XC12 pedals. Been considering Clavicula cranks but not sure how justifiable they are.. T

  • Slammed. Taped. Done. For now..

  • Finishing kit looks spot on 👍

  • Thanks man, pretty happy with it. May go 120/12 deg once I get the fitness up. Seen you got some nice CK hubs for the Cielo, they're going to look beautiful on it. Black rims I say ;) Debating colour matched CK hubs for this too but the outlay for them then Enve rims is immense.. Gonna ride these wheels into the ground first I think.. T
