• It's the hard edge between the polished sides and the circular brushed top of the case that makes this such a memorable design for me.

    The recent re-issue has a big soft bevelled edge that looks crap. I thought it was an opportunity for Zaratsu flex but no mention of it in the write up.

  • That bevelled edge seems to be a carry-over from the SPB051/053 from 2017. That one was zaratsu polished and was a really nice case - I had one - this recent one looks a bit softer to me.

    I want to see the bracelet clasp though, that article I posted claims the clasp is machined rather than stamped, which would be a Very Big Deal for Seiko at this price point.
