Any suggestions for slick 700x42 tyres? Currently using £8 Conti Sport Contacts (or Contact Speed, name seems to have changed at some point) which have surprised me by actually being alright, roll well enough and are reasonably puncture proof. Weighty though at 610g for the wire bead ones and wet grip is pretty dire. Reasonable puncture resistance (but not a priority)/rolling resistance/weight are important. Up to say £40 a tyre. Not bothered by colour. Gravel Kings?

Tyres for my CDF (700c):
I’ve been riding as much path, trail and other non-tarmac as I can on this but am still doing up to 50% on roads. Current tyres are conti cx king 35mm.Are 38mm g-ones going to be a better match? I still want to be fairly rugged-capable on this bike.

If there is not too much loose or wet then G-Ones for sure will be better, they excel on gravel, hardpack, tarmac.

I would say the rides I’ve been doing are probably 90% road/gravel/hard pack/grass and 10% looser or rockier stuff. Presumably I’m not going to get a tyre that is equal on all.

I do a lot of similar riding on my Genesis Datum - if I know I've got a section of particularly loose and rocky stuff coming up I just lower my tyre pressure. Easy enough to pump back up when you get back onto harder surfaces. Seems like the best way to get the best of both worlds.

Anyone used these and rate them?

i've been riding cross bosses 35mm for a few weeks on my cdf, after g-ones and wtb riddlers, and while i enjoy the better traction of the cross bosses uphill, they are behind in terms or rolling resistance on flat dry or tarmac

What's good in 650b, max 42mm, for 50% road 50% fire tracks, exclusively dry weather (so performance in the mud not relevant)?

pasela are back and now named after @youramericanlover 's fav tyre

Don't come in 25c, not a true road tyre. Fuck gravelkings

So they do a 650B Pasela, I had seen a Soma tyre in that size with the Pasela thread but not a Panaracer branded one. I wonder if they come up as small as the 700c ones do.

I gave up on running the rock 'n roads tubeless. They've been in my shed for too long, had massive sidewall leaks + went from good pressure (survived a 45km mtb ride) to completely flat and popped off the rim overnight twice. Always need the compressor to pop them back up. You could probably run them tubeless and I've tried since others have succeeded online but for using them twice each month they would probably be deflated everytime I wanted to get out. I've just popped tubes in them and will ride them till they break. Not mad since they aren't meant to be tubeless but in the meantime I'll keep my eyes open for replacements.
I'm a huge fan of schwalbe tyres since I've never had trouble running them tubeless. Will be used for mtb trails in Belgium, so nothing too technical, g-one bite maybe?

Did you end up trying the Terreno Zero? Would recommend?

I’m finding this Rivendell/Panaracer 33mm slick is lovely to ride in 700c form- here it is in 650b for £15 each:

Autocorrect? Clement Stradas are great on road. Plenty of grip ive been riding a set for a couple of years now. Commuting, road riding and an epping ride. Don't feel slow of tarmac imo

how do you get them on tho
I just bought a pair and had to give up on mounting the first one, due to blisters : /

No I didn't in the end. A mate is running them and is pretty happy AFAIK. Not very helpful sorry!
