  • I wonder if I should find something similar to move my commuter onto - doing 90% off the road, 30-40% Of that potential pretty tech riding and 60% flat tarmac/canal paths.... the fun bit is pretty rocky and rough but after that it’s a drag... tried riding my 26r cotic soul on it and it was amazing through the woods and quarry but awful on the 3 miles of flat... really thinking a rigid 29r could be perfect.

    Vagabond or latitude?

  • latitude

    Do you mean Longitude?

if so here is a comparison

    the longitude is....longer

  • Another look to the family (thanks @punkture)

  • Can be replaced. I know there's a company in The Netherlands that replaces them. (results in a slightly heavier fork as they cut away the broken part, put a smaller tube in what's left of the original and than slide a new one over this smaller one).

  • It's more a hairline crack and it has not gone through to the steerer, mayb a resin can fix it?

Probably one of the london carbon repair shops can repair it locally than sending it all the way to Europe, especially with the postal service happening atm.

  • A hairline crack on the outside of the tube means there's been to much tension on the inside of the tube (the expander too tight?). So have looked after it by an expert.

I'm sure London carbon repair shops have the same knowledge and skills to repair it. I was only giving the Dutch shop as an example. Maybe new forks are the cheapest solution?

  • Fuck, you're right.

Removed the expander the headset cap can be removed now!

I really would like to keep the bike period if I could but you're probably right in terms of cheaper solution for now.

  • would fully recommend HQ Fibre Products in Norwich for carbon repairs

  • These guys always gave me reasonable quotes for stuff over the years but never got round to sending anything off as it was hassle. Only read good things about them online too.

They have made some rad tt helmets too!

  • Lovely in every way

  • Still looking good ..... size ? 57ish ?

  • I’d really like some black shamal like that
    Lovely build

These guys can sort that no problem & well worth it
That look fork is really nice

  • Cheers man. It’s a funny frame, the seller was under the impression it was “custom” but who knows when it comes to the provenance of ~30 yr old frames. The ST is short (57) and the TT is longer (58.5). Serotta frames seem to come all shapes and sizes

  • So I’m not feeling the tape I’m currently running, what d’y’all think of this?

  • Tactilus in extremis.

  • Your bike? Lovely stuff.

  • Yup, it’s a late 70s made for Peter’s business partner, my old boss.

  • I want to swap out my terrible looking Specialized Fact forks (those fugly as fugly fuck ones off the Tricross Singlecross). With something less fugly, namely these:

Anyone have any experience with 4ZA forks?

  • Anyone have any experience with 4ZA forks?

Loads of people (including me), but under different names. Dolan PreCursas, Koga FPTs and Ridley Ovals all come with 4ZA Ellyps forks.
