Engage with your Ward Councillors.
Even at the moment, they are conscious that eveyone has a vote. -

Ouch! complacency is a killer glad you're ok. Does this mean you're going to be sent on a ladder safety snoozefest of a H&S course?

Ha!
I did a ladder safety ticket back in my Hackney Council days.
Consisted of bunch of lads looking at a ladder in the yard for 5mins while having a rollup then getting signed off without anyone asking or answering a question or actually climbing a ladder!Cheers for the well wishes, it sucks when you know it happened due to complacency. I’ll be fine in a few days I’m sure.

Opiates are the solution, they made pain and tedious visitors disappear on my only stay in hospital. Plenty available from street prescribers.

ouch, sorry to hear that. GWS

Need a recommend for a battery-powered strimmer, sick to death of trying to get the petrol powered one to go (or not go.)

Ours are going nuts. Probably 50 of them scattered around our yard. In the back of this random photo you can see a bunch.
The photo was supposed to be start to a video of a nice summer rain. I include the video for fun:

To the left in the back is all fresh dirt and grass seed with a new slate patio. Just waiting for the seed to come in. Going to be nice. I spaced.out the slate so the grass fills in the gaps.

Wonderful, I'd love that many, I think there's about 10 up our front path in various stages of coming out.

If anyone's doubting how warm you can get a compost, I cooked an egg in ours yesterday. Been struggling to keep my shit together recently but the garden has really helped.

Is that in the hotbox? You definitely got a good heap going there, you should try a baked potato! Yeah, I don’t know where my head would be now without my garden either. Very glad to have it. Hope you're doing ok.

I’ve got some maincrop spuds still chitting in the potting shed, any point putting them in this late?
If not I’ll use the space for something else.

Impossible to photograph well but my rose is now in full flow. Usually like this until Sept.

Peonies are out here. Every year my Elder gets absolutely smothered in aphids but it's ok as an army of ladybirds and their larvae turn up and destroy them all. Last few days there's been loads of 2 spots mating and laying eggs on it.

You can still plant main crop in May. I put mine in on Saturday - ready for September time.

I use a Bosch one. It does the job ok enough on grass & weed. The batteries recharge quickly. The plastic blade consumables don't like solid stuff at all but you get used to the distances quickly.

Ah, ta. Will have a look.

Sorry just catching up on this now. Yes but outside. I don't know if it's the soil (heavy clay) but they seem to do much better than tomatoes outside for me. Stems can be a bit fragile but then you just stick them back in the earth and there is a good chance they will take. I used to live in a place where they were in all the shops so if I want to keep up with my green Chile habit I have to grow them.

We had one for ages and thought it was an Acer but we're told by a botanist friend that it categorically isn't. Sadly while they did tell me what it's called I cannot remember the proper name of it.
I called it Bob the non-acer though.

I reckon it's a(n) Acer palmatum 'Dissectum Atropurpureum' Tree. Twenty years ago I buried a dead Koi under mine which seemed to kill it. I'm sure I'd read something about this being a thing in Japan but maybe it wasn't.

Heal up quickly, Ed!
