It's the future
Apparently

It's the now.

It's the now.
It’s just not evenly distributed yet

Within two years all brands will have one super long, low and slack geo in their range, as the flagship enduro model. Look at the S-Works Enduro.
By the way, when you coming to ride? Got many fun trails on the menu.

I know. I'm just staying in the past for a bit longer :-)

A 1500 euro alu frame is now considered a bargain? This must be the defining moment when I finally realise I'm a grumpy old man.

Well, in relation to other bikes of that type, at least, and it does appear to include a £500 shock
"Full bike builds now frequently nudge over € 10,000 and frame only prices give little change from € 3,000"

RC 295 is £1,899 for a carbon frame, alloy swingarm and a Rockshox Deluxe RT3 Debonair 135mm travel shock, for context.

Rockshox Deluxe RT3 Debonair
Sure you don't want something with more adjustment?
Think of the Shockwiz!

The sub £1,000 market is bereft of bikes in stock at the moment, as my friend is finding out. Any suggestions for a 1x hardtail with hydro brakes in the 650ish price bracket that is in stock somewhere?

Has Go Outdoors been cleared out? And Decathlon?
-
• #16471
Yes!

Rutland seems to have stock of some cheaper bikes. Not sure if they have something 1x though in that price.

TRP 12 speed drivetrain looks interesting.

Although:
TRP is selling the TR12 mech and shifter as a pair. The setup retails for £330 / €299
Fuck's sake

Have a watch of the Guy Kesteven (sp?) video where he rides the RC295- he seems to think the stock shock is well matched, to the extent that he recommends against the upgraded part that Pace offers.
Is there anyone on here that's got experience with servicing Fox forks specifically the Grip damper?
