I would say the rides I’ve been doing are probably 90% road/gravel/hard pack/grass and 10% looser or rockier stuff. Presumably I’m not going to get a tyre that is equal on all.
I do a lot of similar riding on my Genesis Datum - if I know I've got a section of particularly loose and rocky stuff coming up I just lower my tyre pressure. Easy enough to pump back up when you get back onto harder surfaces. Seems like the best way to get the best of both worlds.
