Crazed paint on headtube.

  • Just after some speculation/ideas of causes really. I was giving my bike a wipe down this afternoon and thought I had left bristles or hairs on the headtube, but in fact it was crazed paint! Any ideas?

  • Quick guess - the paint guys will know better: clear coat is expanding / contracting at a different rate and it’s pulling / pushing the coat below around.

  • does it get exposed to UV in any way on a daily basis?

  • Cracked paint. Got it all over the stays on my Aende lo-pro and linear cracks at the seat tube lug area. No idea how it happens but most likely nothing to worry about

  • I've got this on the DT logo of my Look 464. It just happened over time.

  • I mean it's been riden quite a lot the last couple of weeks, so yes.

  • I'll just keep an eye on it then. Thanks guys.
