My Dualit grinder stopped working for no (apparent) reason. I discovered that it was because of the failure of a microswitch that detects when the hopper is located properly. If you take the hopper off the switch opens and the grinder won't run. This is (I assume) a safety feature to stop people being able to easily stick their fingers in moving burrs. I could have found a replacemnt switch (although it might have been tricky finding the exact match) but, since I knew that I wasn't going to ever sell the machine, I just bypassed the switch and the grinder has been running fine for several years in that state. Might be worth a check before getting into anything more complex?
Thanks - this is mega helpful. Nothing smells burnt!
Will get on it when I pick up a multimeter.
