• I persuaded my mum to dedicate half her greenhouse in 2015 to tomatillos. I remember they grew really huge, there was string everywhere to support them and they didn’t bare much fruit until November when the season had past. They were in no bigger than 10L, probably smaller actually. How big are your seedlings?

It was a hell of a pork chile verde.

  • Cheers man. Do you think they could’ve used larger containers? They have a rep for growing large and producing like mad, not sure I’ve got the infrastructure to handle the 20 seedlings I’ve got going. That said, I haven’t found a provider for fresh tomatillos in London so it’s worth a go. Largest seedlings are about 15cm high with a dozen leaves or so. I’ll snap a pic and PM you if you want a few.

  • Could someone confirm if this is chamomile? There is not much scent to it, but much bigger than normal daisies. We would like to replant, grow and eventually drink, but wanted to make sure first 🧐
PS: sorry, shouldn’t be a reply to previous post... too early no coffee yet

Same reason we grew them, although our crop wasn’t very large because we started a little late and it had got cold by the time the fruit were ripening. I think bigger pots would be good but you’ve got to be realistic with space, I think we had four plants and they completely dominated one side of a 10’ greenhouse.
I just had a quick read and maybe the reason ours grew so tall was we treated them like tomatos and pinched out the side shoots which apparently you shouldn’t do with tomatillos but they’ll still grow like triffids.
Kind offer for seedlings, I may be able to collect depending where you are, drop me a PM. Good luck!
