The fact that this is still going after 10 years makes me so happy. I think I got the second or third tag - as well as multiple others - way back when I still lived in London. Good on you all.

Ditto what @WillMelling said...
Bike tagging has always been my favourite reason to get out of the house...

A query:
What are the current accepted limits of BTOB? I have found something that I dearly want to tag, but am not sure how far from central it is OK to venture?
For reference, the location I have in mind is outwith the N/S circulars, within the M25 and circa 12 miles from Charing Cross, as the crow flies.

We've had tags (even quite far? one or some of rhowe's IIRC) outside the A406 before. As long as it's not taking the piss, you'll probably find someone willing to ride there. In South London, the South Circular is obviously less far south than the North Circular is north, and I'm sure we've had a lot of tags outside it.
Perhaps it's time to change the old rule. It seemed sensible at the time but perhaps no longer?
I suspect your tag would be fine even while violating the rule.

So where do you live now and have you started a game of tag there? Obiously you should, if one doesn't already exist, or bump the existing one. :)
It occurs to me I might try bumping some of the others, like Cambridge or Brighton.

Mashton - long tags can be ok but can slow things up, depends if anyone lives nearby or has the time. My London Eye tag didn't go as quickly as I thought it would. The most important thing is giving decent clues.

Plus, at the mo, there's lots of us suburban lurkers bored to our teeth. An interesting tag, a good photo/clue and glorious weather, worth a few additional miles.

I've been told in the past the North/South circular thing was more a guidance than a rule, and that the M25 was the rule to abide by. rhowe has once tagged literally above the M25 iirc.

Definitely agreed - provided I knew where a tag was I'd more than happily build it into a long weekend training ride, good reason to mix up the routing a bit!

OK. If I ever manage to get this one tagged, I will provide excellent photography and ample clueage. I promise.

Actually the new clue didn't get me to it; I just put in a different search term. I'd also got sidetracked by Oliver talking about skates, not realising he was referring to something I'd said in a previous post. Anyway, we'll see if a 20 mile round trip is worth it tomorrow.
I even stated it was the south circular. Not the North circular which was the actual location.
