  • You can tell this place is fucked when KL and I agree completely

  • btch pls.

mans couldn't handle some fruity ribbing / genuine calling out for his saltery and powerflounced.

he had a mildly amusing shtick involving swears and flowery prose that will be missed by some. possibly.

  • Place is diminished, everybody could have wound it in a little.

  • It was a thread to complain. So why post to complain about someone complaining? Apart from the obvious? But that seems acceptable. Even when people trolled the depression thread.

  • His flowery misanthtropy is far preferable to your incessant spume of charmless negativity and bile

  • Lols

  • It's easy to act Charlie big potatoes if you're going to accuse someone of something and then delete yourself.

I did fuck all in the bad neighbours thread, it definitely wasn't trolling, I was trying to be nice since everyone was having a fucking wank off on who's more irresponsible, cat or dog owners.

I'm going to say this now and he's free to sign up again and argue with me on it, but the guy has a complex. I said something once that pissed him off, and now there's some conspiracy where everyone he doesn't like is conspiring together to troll him. Yes that's as stupid as it sounds.

Bore off, if you have it in for everyone who disagrees with you, you might be the problem, not everyone else.

  • Ditto

  • I don't know.

I posted one comment (my sole contribution to that thread) that I thought was fairly mild trolling and would be read that way, but if someone is in a bad place then I can now see how they may read it differently.

UG had his pitfalls, but on balance he was an interesting poster and I hope he is ok. Hopefully a break will do him good and he will be back before too long.

If he is reading this, I would want to dispel the idea that there is some sort of conspiracy though. It is unfortunate he felt that way (or was left feeling that way).

  • .

    Can't delete, but wish I hadn't replied.

Edit interesting who is replying....them the accusations of personal issues of the one that replied not the ones trolling.

It wasn't even trolling. It was a joke. Only mildly amusing, but it evidently wasn't intended to be taken seriously. Gruber obviously had some personal issues. Hopefully he can deal with those, as getting ranty and shouty on here didn't seem to be helping him any.

  • Flowery prose or not, his problems are not connected with this forum or the people on here.

  • We have Moderators, this is their thread. Thankfully, we don't often need them as racism, religious intolerance and sexism are pretty rare on here, as is spamming and fraud in Classifieds.

What we could possibly do without are those who feel the need to call people out whilst thinking they hold the moral high ground. I would defend their right to do so, but it would help if they realised that it's just their opinion, we really don't need moral guidance. A variety of views can exist and be simultaneously valid.

  • Doesn't that depend on the the thread? But general abuse and slanderous comments can be made. But as long as those that make the comments have a certain post count. Or when called out face to face show what spineless loudmouths they are.

EDIT: Anyone else notice who joined this thread to blame the persona who has been deleted?

  • You missed the 'Big gay hoser...' debacle...

  • I hope you are wrong, for instance, I have been around on here for some time (awaits ageist joke) but hope I would be banned with no favour shown if I were offensive. Part of the trouble is that there is no face-to-face, this is the Internet.

    EDIT: I didn't.

  • One thing that I have observed is that the OGs on here, who know each other face to face, can be a bit cliquey towards others, most often without realising it. To an outsider it can, under some circumstances, feel like people ganging up. I've seen it happen a fair few times over the years. It's probably quite natural in a way, but it can feel pretty toxic on the receiving end.

    Spot on.

  • Couldn't agree more.

I also know from separate chats with him that he is a really caring and supportive guy. Hope he comes back at some point.

  • Coming from you I find this is amazing!!

UG would turn on absolutely anyone who didn't agree with him 100%, horrible to watch... He did come across as very paranoid and I hated seeing him go for anyone that challenged him, it just looked like bullying to me which is a bit odd considering he thought there was a conspiracy against him... Unpleasant business...

  • And hilarious to see the forum's very own sex pest trying to get some mileage out of this one... Pfff...

I'll second this. Didn't actually have a good time when I joined 9 years ago, almost didn't log back in, glad I did though.

  • The form has a reputation to maintain
    Worlds friendliest forum

  • yeah, this 'world's friendliest forum' shit needs to die in a fucking fire. Fair enough when the OG's started the forum, but if you're still taking your insecurities out on internet strangers now you've got bigger problems. Plus, that's what twitter is for.
