He then had it sawn and in several hours of work we carried the whole damn tree from a lorry he rented into his shed, where the wood was left to dry. A few years later he has now built his kitchen from that wood. And I a guitar. :)
Nice day in the workshop. Got one of the last very stressful steps done: neck pocket.
Then went on to shaping the body, did the edge chamfer with the router and started on the belly contour. Getting the curves just right and the chamfer nice and flat is hard work, but immensely satisfying.
