  • Would never have thought the Pro Stealth Evo integrated bar/stem would have worked on a semi-skinny tubed semi-old school steel frame, as they are a super chunky, and very modern shape in the flesh.... But they totally make this rig IMHO. Look great colour matched too. A simple single main colour paint job goes a long way in the HHSRB world.

  • Yep. It reminds me of that GTI colour scheme you painted way back. It didn't need much to stand out, just the right colour pallet and choice parts that aren't by numbers.
    Same reasoning can go for 44mm head tubes and skinny steel forks. I reckon it works well, just needs a good paint job behind it to make it work.

  • Haha. Yeah, I miss that bike. I specifically left the Enve fork unpainted so that the matte black finish on the fork and the bare carbon seat tube emulated the black plastic bumpers the Mk2 golfs had!

    Understated paint will never go out of fashion!
