In that case why not get the confirmation in an email? That they won't warranty the work due to their failure to complete the job.
Then look up charge back for the inspection, and the work.

pretty bummed out for you dude reading about this stuff. really hard to see a good way through this. but hope you have a good call tomorrow and get the bimmer back on track. I hope if you can push through with sorting this then the car will pay you back.
it did already do you the favour of stopping you move to Banbury so in some ways it is looking out for you!

Did you pay by credit card?
Small claims court?
Did you get what they said in writing/email? Making the point that they inspected it and missed the problem or mentining it.
