Not had Texas toast but did you also have that crazy bread numbering system where the number refers to the number of slices so if you bought a "5" you'd get a loaf that was only in five pieces? It was like eating four normal slices stuck together. The bread was soo sweet as well and the PB was full of sugar too. The whole thing should've just been called a cake.

Japanese toast? Had that in Japan as a kid. Did not blink because Texas toast.
