Not yet I'm afraid. I'll take plenty of detailed shots when I get it on Sunday

Looking forward to that then!

Schwing!

Very cool tube junctions. Nice and light too.
-
• #1281
But my god they're expensive!?
-
• #1282
C2W Scheme made it possible, along with some rather patient accumulation of parts.
-
• #1283
I mean, regardless of what made it possible I'm actually just surprised. That's even more expensive than a Firefly. In fact, that might be the most expensive carbon frame pricing I've seen anywhere. Is there something that makes it particularly special? Genuinely interested here.

That's lovely. Really into Ti bikes at the moment, want one!
-
• #1285
Is it that expensive? I mean aye it’s up there but Moots are almost 50% more and dare I say it, don’t look as sleek and special as a Sturdy. Unless I’ve missed something ;)! It’s a total stunner the Sturdy, great choice. T

Moots framesets aren't £6750 as far as I'm aware
-
• #1287
Yeah, the website says 4500GBP for a frameset. Firefly is 4400USD. Vamoots DR is 5095USD.
Edit: Appreciate I'm comparing different currencies but still. Sheesh. 4500 is a lot for a frameset in the UK.

Ah must’ve misread, apologies. Their site says 4.6k. Moots are 6.6k these days with the pound hitting rock bottom and then dropping through it;) Either way, it’s something special and unique. Money well spent I say :)!

Nice - so are all the lugs/joints and dropouts 3D printed Ti?
Also how do you tighten the seat clamp? What BB standard did you go for?
-
• #1290
Yeah all 3D printed Ti.
The seatpost tightens on the non drive side with a pinch bolt into the 3D lug (I'll take a shot when I have the bike). BB is T47.

When I was comparing what frame to get I looked at Moots, Kent Eriksen, Mosaic, Enigma and Sturdy. When you factor in the UK pricing for the American builders the Sturdy was a fair bit cheaper. Moots pricing shot up last November when they went exclusive to Saddleback for UK import. If buying from the USA directly all the import taxes push it up even more.
It was definitely a treat purchase but when I'd priced things up only the Enigma was cheaper.

• #1292
its literally cheaper to fly to america to get the frame, I looked into this, just time poor, then poor poor
-
• #1293
Well, you should declare for import duties when you fly back, so not even then.
-
• #1294
Yeah I looked at visiting my Aunty and Uncle in the States and collecting a frame, however the hassle, risk of getting stung at customs on the way back and time involved ruled it out.
-
• #1295
taps nose
-
• #1297
No way you get through customs easy.
-
• #1298
what did you get when you actually turned 40
I thought it was 50?
Shit
-
• #1299
50 cant be midlife; who's gonna live till 100 ?!
-
• #1300
You get one each decade from 40 onwards. It's why Andy has 4.
Ok, thats nice.
Do you have a picture of the BB cluster?
