In fairness the EU countries also have to stick to the agreement, but not all have auto loss of rights if you miss the deadline...
But sure, whataboutery when your own party and ex leader started this shitshow and refused to sign off on rights of the Brits abroad is grand.
Gove promised free uk citizenship to us eu furrin's when he ran for party leader election last year. Guess he says what he thinks helps him, not what he means...

Basically EU citizens in the UK are denied benefits against EU rules in the WA, EU isn't happy and is gonna sue.
