What time is it? Watches and horology

If you are in the market for a perpetual calendar, you probably have someone on retainer to set it for you.

Exactly. I mean I think a winder is really not necessary for 99% of watches. What's it take to set the date and time, 2 minutes??

It's a shame about the TGV on the dial as i like this no date version more. Don't actually mind the you tube guy but i still wouldn't want the extra. Squale already are a bit too busy on the writing

There’s a similar Sub 39 with little changes, I didn’t like that it’s not matt like the black one.

The Presage range is weird

Seiko pricing / market positioning seems to have lost the plot recently.

I'd like a winder as it avoids a bit of faff (and i do wonder if all the additional fiddling with a crown when resetting a watch affects the level of maintenance required), but in my head if i get one then i'd also have to get a smoking jacket and staff, so that's a no.

I am considering strapping watches to the child or using them as a cat collar as an alternative.

I'd still quite like the modern divers reinterpretation or whatever they are calling it

It does if your day/date stops at 12:017 am or something and you try to quick set the date.

@Howard - blimey. I think the strap is my favourite part of that. In Seiko's defence, Omega have done the cartoon / weird TV thing as well. Just a lot better.
