From what I understand - setting up (for example) a perpetual calendar is a pain. So, basically if you have very complicated watch, and want to wear it every Sunday - get a watch winder, so you don’t have to sit there for however long it takes to set the watch up again.
You can always just wear it, and not care if it shows the correct time too, I guess :-)
That would defeat the purpose of the perpetual calendar, wouldn’t it?
It’s supposed to take into account different lengths of months as well as the leap years.
