Hi all,
I fished this out of the attic today.
This is an lightly used / ex-display Walker Brothers "Urban" rear disc. Bought from Walker Brothers direct, this was a prototype that never made it to full scale production.
Bought about 3 years ago and never used. It has storage marks from 2x house moves so although it has never been used, it is not new.
It has a Miche double fixed hub and a lightweight clincher rim.
Here is what Brian from Walker Brothers says why it is described as "for urban use" (as opposed to their race wheels):
"It would be fine to race on but it has more flex than a racing wheel, so wouldn't sell it as a racing wheel. We have been developing a disc wheel for the urban market that is more affordable using cheaper materials. The wheel is primarily made from high strength fibreglass rather than carbon fibre. This gives a more comfortable and durable ride."
Comes with 2x Miche lockrings and a low end sprocket. All new.
