  • I always dream of having a separate tap for filtered water. Is it really a done thing in the UK? Could I just plumb in a little BWT style filter and tap off filtered water to use in the kettle? I’m sure I’ve spent a few hundred pounds replacing the filters in my Brita over the years.

  • Yeah Brita taps are pretty easily available. Never used one myself so I don't know how good they are.

  • I am getting a "3 way tap" installed next week.

Just type 3 way tap in AliExpress and you will find loads of options.

I then followed @StevePeel suggestion and used Andrewswater.co.uk to get an inline filter.

The cartridge is £100 and good for 3,000 litres

  • The water where we live is bastard hard. We have a bestmax water filter that feeds the coffee machine, fridge and a couple of drinking water taps. There is also a salt softener which feeds the dishwasher, washing machine and hot water. There are some cold water taps in the house that just have unfiltered mains water.
