Yeah, I've been contemplating going back to a dual-boiler tank fill for years now but I just can't justify spending £1k on a machine that basically gets used on weekends only now (at least until lockdown, we're now using the S26 daily again).

My local...
I love the side plates on it:

Like I said, if I was gonna go all in I'd want something like this hot rod.

I wouldn't dare posting my setup in here. It's chaos, there's barely enough space for my tiny Cubika - never mind something like that. We're looking at moving though - maybe I need to prioritise huge amount of counter space in the kitchen!

Good to know. If we had more space we'd probably get a big tank filter, but alas, nae space!

This feels like the car thread, where I ask advice about my ancient Astra, and other people post their Porsches.

I'm drinking instant coffee from a Sports Direct mug.
Don't ever forget where you came from...

Between the Cremina & Linea posted previously, I'm tempted to give my Europiccola a lick of paint. This looks pretty nice IMO:

You'll splash the cash on some scales but won't pick up a bargain like that?!
If I'd had the space I wouldn't have hesitated, it is a great price... Lori would love it, she'd be pulling shots on it all day...
And I was drunk when I bought the Acaia!!! But no ragrets...

Nice, they are pretty awesome machines! I've not seen another machine that looks so good while also looking usable day-to-day.
-
• #17761
Sounds like you need to go on another boozing session then!

It's all about what you can do with what you've got!! I get great results, perfect for me... I don't need anything more, guitars on the other hand!!

• #17763
I've quit, Mick, that's really insensitive... 🤪

• #17764
I would too if it resulted in me buying those scales ;)

If we’re posting dream home set ups, then I‘m dreaming too. I want the Decent DE1+

Is that my Gaggia?
-
• #17767
They're great! How much are they over there, £150? That isn't that bad... It's a lot but it isn't £500 or summat...
-
• #17768
Is it the Lunar you've got? They're around £300 or so in the UK!

Glad it worked. The water where I am is really hard so the taste with bottled water is very noticablely better. Hopefully I'll be able to stop once I get my mitts on a Peak water filter!

• #17770
It might be, but I had a few of them so I kinda lost track. Did yours have any distinguishing marks? :)
-
• #17771
Didn't I sell one to you at one point also? Or for a colleague of yours or something like that?
-
• #17772
I'm happy to fall into the "owner of cheap, fun, reliable model" in both threads!

Dream home machine?
-
• #17774
Yeah, I can't remember. Machines were flying all over the place in those days :D
I definitely went to your place to pick something up one day. You were near Papaya at one point IIRC?I know the Gaggia above with the steam wand mod definitely went to my office in the City for a while but I can't remember who's it was originally or where it went.
-
• #17775
Yep on both counts, mine had a Silvia wand and lived directly above Papaya!
You'll splash the cash on some scales but won't pick up a bargain like that?!
I'd be all over that if I had the space. Still my favourite non-home machine I've ever worked with. And I spent a few years working with one of these!
