  • Looking for a few suggestions and recommendations, on the following things. I currently have a Technicolour TG589vac router with SE providing the broadband.

There are two macbook pros in the flat and the wifi, or more accurately the internet connection regularly drops out. It can usually be resolved by turning wifi off and on, but not always. I never really bothered that much, but now we are working from home it's more of an issue with zoom calls etc. Any ideas what could be causing it? Generally the router shows that it still has internet, so it seems to be the mac communication with the router that is the issue.

I also have a QNAP NAS connected to the router for work backup (I'm a photographer) and now need to get a new one as it's almost full. Should I be looking at a new more capable router, or a separate switch for the qnaps? Don't want to spend almost 4 figures on storage and then create a bottleneck. I usually backup jobs via ethernet, but access random files over the wifi. Seldom do I work directly from the qnap.
