  • Gonna bump this thread because why not.

Bought a Reynolds 708 Cliff Shrubb last year to keep for a rainy day. Finally getting round to doing something with it. Started off like below -

Both the headset and bottom bracket were gone. Pitted beyond belief so out they went. The fork had some writing in permanent marker "Ice Blue 7-2-90" which I assume means the frame was built in 1990 or it went in for a respray then. Serial number is 0438 which is a few down from my gold Lo-Pro.

Ended up going for a respray with Vaz in Ice Blue which I've left at my old work. Finish is meh but from a distance looks decent. Looking forward to finally being able to pick it up from work tomorrow. Going to try and order some original decals from H Lloyd along with 708 decals to match in the next couple of days.

Parts wise I got a Suntour Superbe bottom bracket and a Chorus/record headset fitted so far. Plan is to go Suntour 1x with risers.. lol. Yeah, this is due to building it up for a mate who isn't keen on drops and tbh 1x riser set up is quite fun/easy to ride.

So currently on the lookout for cheap Superbe Pro bits, if anyone has some kicking about let me know.
