Good shout. Had the callipers out before to check the size and I was slightly concerned that 58mm would be a bit loose.

As stated earlier (maybe another forum, I don't know) I think there is a move towards lighter tamping these days anyway.

I'm a one not particularly firm-ish tamp guy now, I used to use so much more force...

Considering my espresso machine cost me £50, I'd feel a bit daft dropping that cash on a tamper. And as for injury prevention - my tamping habit is the last of my body's concerns!

just adding stuff from right click menu on mac = excellent
set up gmail forwarding to auto-add specific emails with tracking numbers = seamless.

Quality. How come you sold on the peak water? Thought they'd only just come out?!

I've ordered a ROK presso GC, farewell steady hands and normal conversation speeds.

I backed it on Kickstarter and totally forgot about it tbh. I don’t think they really managed to maintain the quality of design, from an aesthetic and tactile point of view, compared with the prototype I saw at London Coffee festival. I get hung up on things like that, which I know is kind of dumb.
I’m sure it works great though, Maxwell Colonna is doing awesome things in coffee.

My mate was the same - he said he'd totally forgotten about it. I 100% know what you mean about tactile quality - I hate plasticy feeling stuff. Especially when it's something you use everyday.

I've found it is super dependent on getting the right tonic. Can be good, can be real grim 😅 but I'll drink iced filter all year, over most other drinks, so I'm the other end of the temp scale!

I long for a stainless steel AeroPress.

I know rite. Maybe I could sell all my bikes and just do coffee as a full time hobby.

Anyone do any home roasting beyond using the @StevePeel heat gun method?
I absolutely loved my first go this past week or two and it was fun trying to tweak results but ultimately it's a heat gun. Are there any decent home machines? I've even looked up to about £5k for small used commercial things, though that may be the lack of coffee talking. Anything smaller for doing a kilo or so here and there?

I don't get the price tag when you can pick up a Europiccola for £350.
Edit: Granted I got it on sale, but there's a few places you can pick one up now for less than £450

beautiful plummage tho
I'm the same although I still find myself considering getting kitted out for espresso even though I know for a fact that I am incapable of the discipline required for maintenance and measurements to make a consistently good cup.
