Cannondale Siemens Mobile MTB

  • There we go, another Cannondale I couldn't resist. This one for the Mrs.
Been thinking for a bit whether to go new or used but then she said I wanna bike like yours, so that everyone is jealous (thanks).

Search began and in literally no time I found this bad boy.

Full original spec (saddle is a suspect tho) MTB w a lovely Siemens Mobile frame.
    Size medium. Handmade in USA.
Got it with a headshock fault (not holding air) and a good discount.
50 eur later the headshock appears to be fixed (as per a local pro-Cannondale LBS).
Funny enough mechanic was asking me whether I would consider selling the bike to him.

Spec is Shimano XT/LX 3*9, Magura brakes, Mavic x819 wheels on Cannondale hubs running tubeless (yes, tubeless) Racing Ralphs.

Only thing done to the bike by me so far is a full thorough clean (not a rebuild as was serviced last year) and a tune up.

    Plans are as follows:
    1x11 SLX or XT conversion
    SLX or XT brakes
    New grips
    New pedals (potentially dale spiders)
New seat as Mrs not to keen on this one.

So there we go. Four Cannondales and one Trek now. Lol.

  • Flip stem, add 780mm risers, jobs a goodun

  • Whatโ€™s going on with the rear mech cable pulley thing?

  • Might involve getting new wife too lol ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ but I see what you're thinking here...
All jokes but she's around 165cm tall and considering Cannondales tend to be slightly longer I guess any alterations of the finishing kit might result an uncomfy ride.

  • Do you know? Cause I don't haha. It does work like a charm tho

  • It's an Avid Rollamajig, to eliminate the cable loop, before derailleurs changed their cable entry point.

  • Oh there we go. Thanks @chez_jay
Funny how on my other MTB I've just routed the cable outer in there and it was working just fine as well. Oh well

  • I might be interested in the shifter and mechs if you're looking to get rid of parts... :)

  • Okay gentlemen, what are our tyre options for this bad boy? The one's that are one it are a bit tired, mostly visually I have to say but...this is the bike for the Mrs you know...
    Requirements:

    • 26 inch
    • 2.15-2.30 wide
    • skinwall highly desirable
    • current setup it tubeless but I don't mind going tubs again whatsoever
    • the bike will be seeing mostly hard surfaces, tarmac maybe an odd forest trail.

I was looking at schwalbe table tops (which seem to meet criteria) but the reviews seem to mention extremely weak sidewall (not an issue I guess) and almost no grip on any loose surface (which kind of makes sense but NO grip, really?)

    Thanks
