• This is a very rare Cliff Shrubb Badged as a Puma- no idea why but I knew Cliff when I was a lad and he was one of the best frame builders out there.
This has a nice set of clinchers and an agreeable component mix. I will put new yellow bar tape on it if desired.
Lovely small light bike. None of my kids would appreciate it so one of you might. French threaded crank arms and yes I will put another chain ring bolt in there. I can tap to British threads and include some basic pedals or look pedals.

    Near Redhill Surrey. £285 please.

  • lovely bike...bump

  • Sweet ride.

“017” was the lightest tubing they did (if memory serves)

1700g tubeset essentially so a very light frame.

I would also draw the readers’ attention to the incredibly clean lug work, the beautifully delicate working on the dropouts of the fork - and is that a webbed lug behind the headtube? Nice!

What is the TT length on this?

  • Out of interest what do the bottom bracket numbers look like? Anything like the below? -

  • Thanks for the info and compliments. My spelling is terrible ! Ishiwata.
Its 50cm seat tube and 51cm top tube c to c. I think its 66 cm standover.
New bottom bracket fitted. Mavic hubs on the lovely Cpx 30 rims.

  • Hi Vintage Jon! When would you be available for me to have a look?

  • Yes same place. Not a Cinelli on this though. I have several Cliff frames, his brazing around the dropouts was delicate and not filled in from what i can see. I have Allin frames, built by their own builders and also some built by Shrubb. He was working behind their showroom in Whitehorse Road in 84 or 85 when i went there with a Carlton frame he modified for me. He left such an impression that even though i couldnot afford a new frame back then, i have in recent years been looking for his artwork.

  • Hi Amanita, pm sent.

  • 015 was the marginally lighter tubeset a few hundred grams under that of 017...&I think there was a rider weight limit & it was very prone to dents & dinks...

  • What a great bike.

  • gorj

    I grew up in Redhill.

Trying to guess where you live from the style of house!

It is a slow day at doubleodavey towers, that's for sure
