Anyone ever turned a 27.2.dropper post down to 26.8? Needing a dropper for the rigid bike but it's old!

Wouldn't you be better off reaming the seattube to 27.2? (No clue if it can be done, though.)

Or maybe a bit of both? Thinking about the KS post with the lever under the nose of the saddle.
