Awkward question, but what is the width of the gap for wheels on the chain stay 32cm from the rear axel centre? Hoping to do a 650b conversion, but would like to save myself the trip to measure.

Yeah, I wasn't very clear. A 650b wheel with a 38mm tyre is widest 32cm from the rear drop out. So if you measure 32 cm from the dropout along the tubing from the back wheel towards the bottom bracket, what is the gap between the two tubes at that point.... I. E. How big a tyre could I get in there?

Very much doubt it. Chainstays are flat/non crimped. Look at how short the chainstays are with what seems like 25mm tyres. Even if you could fit 38's in there, you'll have a hard time getting a caliper to both clear the tyres and reach the brake track.
Might be wrong though. Would look great as a 650 randonneur with all silver components.

Ah cool, too thin, which is a shame... Great buy otherwise.

There are some very clever brake calipers out there

I'm very aware of them. Gran Cru's or velo orange being a set I'd go for. You're still needing extra long drop calipers and potentially dropped pads to accommodate the Capacity.
At that juncture, you might as well spruce for a more appropriate frame. -
