Somewhat off topic but how has the pandemic affected used sales in the forum's experience? Prices holding steady or is there a lot of panic selling?

Singular Peregrine frameset just down the road from me. Happy to negotiate on someone else’s behalf. They are fantastic frames.

I sold a old used pair of rollers for £160+, I paid £30 weeks before but decided they were too loud for evenings... 99p start 7 days. I expected sub £50

I would imagine it depends what you’re selling and whether you offer postage. Would guess @R.hobbs could offer postage on the rollers, hence a they fetched a higher price.

I found this 2013 Specialised Tarmac and I am quite interested myself, but I don't know much about road bike values, is it reasonably priced?
-
• #62512
That’s quite a lot for a seven year old bike. Offer £450.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on it. I'm not necessarily looking for one of those specifically, but it looked better value and condition than a lot of what I could find on ebay.

I find this bike quite cool. Particularly like the fork crown and seat stay cluster. All the nice Ebay bikes seem to be 100s of miles away from me at the mo (mercifully I guess)

Yeah, I've noticed that too, very irritating. OR massive or tiny....

I saw this on a dodgy ad on fb marketplace about a month back for £50.

Hmm, maybe got snapped up and is now being flipped for profit? Shame

Now for sale a half an hours drive away so I guess that could be the answer. Really lovely bike, but I'm a bit put off it incase its stolen.

Sad!

I mean, it's not a mega bling bike - maybe £50 quick sale on FB isn't too bonkers. And it's listed with identifiable details - sabre and CX which a stolen bike isn't likely to have to stay under the radar.
Mate got a BBQ with gas bottle for £20 from a big posh house the other day. The deposit on a gas canister is more than £20 - some people do just want rid of stuff.Surely someone just relisting it properly on Ebay is just a way of turning a profit.

Seems like there's some snazzy bits of here for the money. A slightly niche build, and I like those Tutto framesets, but I've not got a spare grand! -
• #62524
Yeah that's fair, I wasn't saying it was definitely stolen but poorly listed definitely which raises a little doubt.. I did enquire about the brand sabre and history of frame because I couldn't find anything on the internet but got no response. The frameset is tidy and pretty unique so I'd say 50 is pretty bonkers.

I also don't think a thief would note that they built the bike themselves - surely that would just invite questions about the mix of components which would be hard to answer.
Always good to be suspicious but I reckon there's enough to suggest it's legit. Too big for me anyway ;)
