Thanks, that's a bit of a trove

Found more info. They’re specced with pretty average components until you starting spending a bit of money. Also, no way to add a front rack to the stock fork.

These look better than the Specialized, but can’t find them readily available in Australia, let alone near us.
That’s why I’m pushing towards the Bombtrack. It’s in stock, at a store where we know the owner.

Supporting your LBS is a pretty solid argument for the Bombtrack..
Also, they look sooo good! -

Bombtrack seem weirdly rare in the UK, don't see them about or for sale much at all. Anyone else think that? They seem like good bikes.

Only one distro (Lyon) and they have limited choices of bike (they sold out of the Outlaw until October).

What about a Kona Dr Dew / Dew Deluxe.
Ticks all those boxes and is very reasonably priced.

so good...until you get to the HT-fork junction :-/

Because the forks are skinny??
-
• #23369
I have come to accept/like the transition. Especially with a chunky headset like that hope.
The tapered steel fork steerers some builders use look shit IMO

Yep. Likewise. Not sure what the fuss is about that. You can have a steelie MTB with fat chunky forks, or chunky tubes with thin stays; never detracted from how great a frame looks.
Speaking of good looking bikes, what's the deal with that creation of yours in your post? Looks awesome.

It now has bouncy forks and doesn't belong in this thread

Specialized thing they just announced?

Do people here know about this? I'm not a Rohloff owner but the twist shift is one of the issuess that has prevented me from having one. Other than the mortgage required to actually purchase.

Same. Personally I find this a more interesting solution: combining Rohloff with SRAM drop handlebar shifters:

Got more pics/link?
I was seriously lusting after one of these but the price with shipping + import is MAD
